Is it easy to take the metro in Berlin?

Berlin is one of the biggest cities of Europe and the distances between attractions and points of interest can be very large. The metro network allows you to get everywhere in the city, it is clean and safe. We never felt insecure and also travelled late in the evening after dinner.

On the first picture, you see the historical building of the Wittenbergplatz metro station. Most stations are underground but the metro covers long distances above ground on elevated tracks. This gives you the opportunity to view the city from above. If you want to visit the East Side Gallery of the Berlin Wall, do this during daytime. The metro station at Ostbahnhof and Warshauerstrasse are less recommendable in the evening.

  11. I love the yellow trains in the next to last picture, also the shot of the train whooshing past!!!! Our subways are famous for being dirty, dangerous, and sleazy, they are the butt of many jokes. WHY can't ours be like the others in Eurpope...

  14. All looks nice and clean. We don't have trains stations as such down here because we don't have passenger trains. We have trains that take us small distances for a joy ride. Everyone drives their cars but of course we don't have a big population on this island.

  17. It seems we both have train stations on our mind Filip! I must say the entrance to the station, first picture, is stunning, very much older than ours I think.
