Looking at handicrafts in a relaxed way at El Sanatlari Carşisi, Istanbul

This little historical building near the Blue Mosque is not well known by tourists. The aim of the visitor centre is to show how the Turkish handicrafts are made. You can have a seat in the flower garden or just walk from one room to the other. In each room you find hand made work like calligraphy, ceramics, glass art work, paintings and carpets. Most of these products you also find on markets but there the sales men are pushing you to buy there goods. Here everyone leaves you in peace.

  12. A really nice place. By the way, Filip, the sheep is O.K., nice of you to be concerned. The animals at that farm are well cared for and fed. If not I would never enjoy going, as I like to know that they are healthy and happy. Your photos here are very nice.
