Sleeping sea lions in the Beagle Canal, Ushuaia

We continue our boat trip on the Beagle Canal and stop at several rock formations were sea lions gather. Sleeping and sun bathing seems to be the favorite activity of these smelling creators of the sea. We are still surprised of the difference in size between males and females.

Also the behavior could not vary more, females sleep and lay down on the rocks while the men challenge each other by raising their head and chest. Is it also like this in the human world? Or is it just the opposite? We leave it to our readers to provide their opinion.

  5. Beautiful scenery. Yes males like to be macho men in most animal species. I would have thought humans could outgrow this trait but alas it is still obvious in many cultures.
