The basilica looks small and strong, this is what you get with tick medieval walls. Inside the first church, you see an elevated altar area through a arched entrance. A very special structure with a logical story behind it.
The St. Stefano church is not a single religious building, there are seven churches which were connected with each other. We particularly liked the inner courtyard, the oldest churches and wall paintings.
De basiliek ziet er klein en sterk uit, dit krijg je natuurlijk met dikke middeleeuwse muren. Binnen in de eerste kerk zie je een verhoogd altaar gedeelte achter een gewelfde doorgang. Een heel speciale constructie met een logisch verhaal.
De St. Stefano kerk is geen alleenstaand religieus gebouw maar een aaneengekoppelde verzameling van zeven kerken. In het bijzonder waren we onder de indruk van het binnenplein, de oudste robuuste kerken en de muurschilderijen.
