The main square and small alleys of Hradčany district, Prague

At a corner house, a wedding couple was posing for a picture, underneath them a band played music. Could it become more romantic than this? Hradčany square is a top location in Prague that you have to visit. It has fantastic buildings to which we are going to pay attention in other articles on the blog. The most important ones are the Sternberg palace and the Schwarzenberg palace. On one of the pictures, you already see the Toscana palace. Walking away from the square in Novy Svět, you enter a deserted world of narrow alleys. It is calm relaxing and the houses are beautiful, This is almost a tourist free zone, except for the occasional person like me or someone who has lost his way in Prague.

  1. I think that these delightful little cobbled streets are as lovely as anywhere in Prague. I remember we had a great reasonably priced meal down one of these streets with some locals, they know the best spots to pick.

  14. I also love the last couple of photos with the cobblestoned side streets. This is what I love about Europe - it is so rare to find streets like this in North America. I would love to visit Prague someday.
