The Ice Palace or city hall of The Hague

The modern white City Hall of The Hague is located at the Spui in the middle of the modern district. By the citizens of The Hague, it’s called the Ice Palace because of its white shinny colour. The enormous building is completely white combined with glass and open spaces. The atrium contains a few palm trees. Maybe this breaks a bit with the ice concept but it is still beautiful. The company hired to wash these windows must be happy.

  1. It is certainly pristine and rather spartan. Definitely the cleanest, neatest building I have ever seen! The name makes one think it is an embassy.

  3. Wow. Kind of cool to see the actual building that we hear about on the news all the time. It does seem rather sterile doesn't it - oh wait most government buildings are.
