The Grand Cascade fountains of Peterhof Palace, St. Petersburg

We have seen many fountains in the world and most of them were impressive because of their size and entertainment around it like at the Bellagio in Las Vegas or at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Here at the Peterhof Palace we were amazed by the Grand Cascade fountains because of the surroundings and artistic setting with the golden statues. We were very lucky that during our visit the sun was shining, it increases the beauty of this amazing cascade of fountains towards the palace. On both sides of the fountains, you find stairs, so it is possible to walk around them.

The east chapel or the Imperial chapel of Peterhof Palace attracts your attention with its five golden domes shining brightly while reflecting the sunlight. This church was used by the Tsars to baptise their children. It matches perfectly with the golden statues of the Grand Cascade.

  15. That's almost impossibly ornate - but a symphony in gold, grey and white! Gorgeous!
