Gooiland Trophy 2011, Hilversum

Our third competition after our injury period was going to be a success again. However the adjudicators didn't appreciate our dancing or appearance. We crashed in the first round and end on place 9 out of 10 couples. We danced at the same level as last week when we received 20 marks out of 20 and reached the second place. Strange that different adjudicators see things totally different. We decided never to dance in this place again, they frequently invite the same jury so we draw our conclusions. Our next competition is on 20 February, Tilburg Moves.

Onze derde competitie na onze kwetsuur periode ging terug een succes worden. De jury dacht hier echter anders over, zij hebben ons dansen of onze uitstraling niet geapprecieerd. We bleven steken in de eerste ronde en eindigen op plaats 9 van 10 paren. We dansten op het zelfde niveau als vorige week toen we 20 van de 20 crossen kregen en op plaats 2 eindigden. We hebben besloten nooit meer in Hilversum deel te nemen, hier nodigen ze veel dezelfde juryleden uit en daar trekken we onze conclusies uit. Onze volgende competitie is op 20 februari, Tilburg Moves.

Gooiland Trophy 2010, Hilversum

The Gooiland Trophy in Hilversum is one of the rare NADB Ballroom competitions in a regular Dance school. Almost all other competitions are in sport halls. It was a small competition with only 17 couples in our class (D-class). This week we changed parts of our Tango and Slow fox, which makes it more difficult. The first round and the semi final were successful. Together with 7 other couples we reached the final. In the final all dances were good except the Quickstep. This was a total disaster, we had so many problems with traffic on the floor that we completely messed up our program. In an angry mood we had to resort to basic steps and ended the tournament in place 7.

De Gooiland Trophy in Hilversum is 1 van de weinige NADB competities in een gewone dansschool. Bijna alle andere gaan door in sporthallen. Het was een kleine competitie en in onze klasse (D) waren er enkel 17 deelnemende paren. Deze week brachten we wijzigingen aan in onze Tango en Slow fox programma's. Dit maakte het wel wat moeilijker. De eerste ronde en de halve finale waren succesrijk. We bereiken de finale met 7 andere paren. In de finale gaan alle dansen goed, behalve de Quickstep. Deze was een totale ramp. We hadden problemen met het verkeer en verknoeiden compleet ons programma. Kwaad en teleurgesteld werken we onze Quickstep af met enkel basisfiguren. We eindigen de competitie op plaats 7.
