Swinging World Trophy Steenwijk, Video Final Championship class

The final of the Championship Class was very special this competition. All couples were invited to the floor for a solo introduction dance. During the quickstep, the public stood on the side of floor to have a closer interaction with the dancers and cheered them on.

The result of the final championship class was:

De finale van de hoofdklasse was zeer speciaal deze competitie. Alle paren werden afzonderlijk op de vloer uitgenodigd voor een introductie dans. Tijdens de quickstep stond het publiek de dansers aan te moedigen aan de rand van de vloer.

Swinging World Trophy Steenwijk, our competition report

Today, the competition was in Steenwijk, quiet a distance from where we live. It meant four hours of driving. Arriving in the dance hall, we see that the B-class has not enough participating couples so we have to dance two finals and first wait for 3,5 hours. The master of ceremonies Mr. Cor Van der Stroet offered all B-class couples a solo introduction dance as compensation. This was a nice experience. In our competition we were focussing on softer arm pressure, a topic of our last lesson. This was not easy and disrupted occasionally our poise. The program of the Waltz and the Quickstep changed because of the new basic dance in the Waltz this week. We also had some problems with our programs because of this change. Overall we were not satisfied with the performance and end in place 6 of 7 couples. Next time it must be better in Zevenbergen, two weeks from now. We will have to increase the number of practice sessions.

Vandaag dansten we een wedstrijd in Steenwijk, een redelijk afstand van waar we wonen. Dit betekende een dag met 4 uur rijden. Toen we aankwamen in de danshal, constateerden we dat er weinig deelnemende paren waren in de B-Klasse. Hierdoor hadden we twee rechtstreekse finales en moesten we eerst 3,5 uur wachten. De presentator, Dhr. Cor van der Stroet, liet alle B-klasse paren aanvangen met een solo introductie dans. Dat was een mooie ervaring. Tijdens onze wedstrijd hadden we als aandachtspunt dansen met lichtere armdruk, het onderwerp van onze vorige les. Dit was niet altijd makkelijk en verstoorde soms onze houding en posities. Onze programma's van de wals en quickstep waren ook gewijzigd daar er deze week een nieuwe basisdans werd geselecteerd. Hier hadden we ook wat routine problemen mee. Al bij al zijn we niet tevreden van onze prestaties in deze wedstrijd en eindigen we op plaats 6 van 7 paren. De volgende keer, binnen twee weken, in Zevenbergen moet het beter zijn. We gaan onze trainingssessies gewoon opvoeren.

Swinging World Trophy 2011 in Steenwijk

The NADB competition in Steenwijk is always a long drive for us. However we are pleased that we decided to go to this event organised by Cor van der Stroet. We won the D-class standard. This is our second competition in the D-class that we win. Our teacher, Michele Lak was supporting us and giving some points for improvement after each round. It was a very good day for the Love2Move team. The 5 participating couples all made the finals.

De NADB competitie in Steenwijk is altijd een lange rit voor ons, maar we zijn blij dat we deelgenomen hebben aan deze wedstrijd georganiseerd door Cor van der Stroet. We hebben uiteindelijk de D-klasse standaard gewonnen. Dit is de 2de competitie die we winnen in deze klasse. Onze lerares, Michele Lak was aanwezig en gaf na iedere ronde tips voor verbetering. Het werd een goede dag voor het Love2Move team. Alle 5 deelnemende paren bereikten de finales.

Swinging World Trophy, Steenwijk

The result of this week's competition was very poor. We didn't make it to the semi-final and finish the competition in place 16 out of 24 couples in the D-class. The redance with 15 couples on the floor was extremely crowded and we decided to put our focus on movement and floor craft. We succeeded in this but lost also a lot of quality in the process. Probably this was not appreciated by the adjudicators. Better performance is expected for the next competition in two weeks.

Het resultaat van onze kompetitie deze week was zeer slecht. We zijn niet in de halve finale geraakt en eindigen op plaats 16 van 24 paren in de D-klasse. In onze herkansingsronde waren we met 15 paren op de vloer wat het enorm druk maakt. In deze ronde kozen we voor beweging om op te vallen. Hierdoor hebben we veel in kwaliteit moeten inboeten. Waarschijnlijk werd dit niet door de jury gewaardeerd. We verwachten een betere prestatie volgende wedstrijd in twee weken.

Dutch Open Challenge Trophy 2009 - Steenwijk

This was the 5th NADB competition of the season. We are very happy we made it to the Finale. We finish in 5th place from 12 couples. Adjudicators Marcel Bake and Koen Brouwers marked us on place 1 or 2.

Our focus during this competition was on movement and flexibility without loss of posture and presentation. The day before the competition we trained on this together with Jan Hermans. It was a good, pleasant lesson and it certainly added to the result of the competition.

Dit is voor ons de vijfde NADB wedstrijd van het seizoen. We zijn zeer blij dat we de finale hebben gehaald. We eindigen op plaats 5 van 12 paren. Zowel jury Marcel Bake en Koen Brouwers plaatsen ons op de 1ste of 2de plaatst.

Ons aandachtspunt voor deze wedstrijd was flexibel dansen zonder verlies van strakheid en presentatie. De dag voor de wedstrijd hebben we hier nog op getraind samen met Jan Hermans. Het was een goede, leuke les en het heeft ons zeker geholpen op de wedstrijd.

Tweede Ballroom wedstrijd 2009-2010

Sunday September 27, we danced our 2nd competition of the NADB federation in Steenwijk. Many couples were present in the D-class and the level was exceptionally high. We ended the competition in place 14 of 20 couples. We were disappointed not to reach the semi finals. However, we are satisfied with all our dances except the Quick-Step. This is something we will work on this week.

Zondag 27 september hebben we onze 2de wedstrijd van het NADB seizoen gedanst te Steenwijk. Vele paren uit de D-Klasse waren weer aanwezig en het niveau was bijzonder goed. We eindigen op plaats 14 van 20 paren. Tot onze teleurstelling halen we de halve finale niet. We zijn tevreden van al onze dansen behalve de Quick-Step. Deze week gaan we hier aan werken.
