Having a drink in “The Old Bank of England”, London

Do you want to have a drink in a real London pub? “The Old Bank of England” is the perfect place and is located at 194 Fleet Street. On this spot stood two pubs from the 16th and 17th century. They were demolished and replaced by the trading branch of the Bank of England. The bank activities continued for 87 years.

In 1994, the London brewers Fuller, Smith and Turner started this perfect pub. You can also eat something here, they are mainly specialised in Pie. The basement still houses the vaults which were used to store the crown jewels during World War I.

  2. Yes! Double yes I do! I know we had lots of fun touring pubs while we were in London and other places in England! Best thing ever was trying Shepherd's Pie too!

  3. This looks like a very exclusive place! And is that the eternal flame outside of it? The fifth picture is really quite something, what a total change entering from outside...I imagine they serve meat pies...

  6. It sure is ornate for a pub but a great way to keep the B of E building alive.

  11. Love the "new pub look" and so interesting to know that once the crown jewels were housed here. Much different than today.
