A touch of the modern elements in the city of Bordeaux

Mayer Alain Juppé has clean-up the city in the last two decades. Not only restoring the historical buildings but also adding open space and views around the river banks. In this article we share a few buildings which represent modern elements of Bordeaux.

We start with Cité du Vin, modern architecture at its best. We visited the building and the wine shop, selling wines from all over the world. Not only wine from the Bordeaux region.

The second building was close by. It is the Mercure hotel we are staying. On each floor the halls were designed with glass artwork and lounge areas.

Bar L'austra, well it is a special thing. Here we had some cocktails. On evenings, they have DJ events. The bar is colorful, has a swimming pool and crazy plastic animal decorations. Have fun.

Burgemeester Alain Juppé heeft de laatste twee decennia de stad schoongemaakt. Niet enkel door gevouwen te renoveren maar ook door open ruimte te creëren langs de oevers van de rivier. In dit artikel delen we enkele foto's van moderne gebouwen in Bordeaux.

We beginnen met Cité du Vin, moderne architectuur op zijn best. We bezochten het gebouw en de wijnwinkel. Hier verkoopt men wijn uit alle regio's van de wereld, niet enkel uit de Bordeaux streek.

Het tweede gebouw was dichtbij, ons hotel. Het Mercure hotel is op iedere verdieping anders ingericht met veel glas en lounge elementen. 

Bar L'austra is een speciale plaats. Hier dronken we enkele cocktails. 'S avonds zijn er hier DJ events. De bar is een samenspel van kleuren, het heeft een zwembad (plonsbad) en gekke plastieken dieren decoraties. Veel plezier.
