Cheers from the Ku De Ta bar, Singapore

Like in many exclusive bars, the drinks in Ku De Ta are very expensive but we think it is worth it. You don't have to pay a fee to go to the bar at the top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. For the observation deck on approximately the same height you need to buy tickets.

The views from Ku De Ta are super. Straight below us we saw the Formula One race track and colored viewer areas. The skyline of seems completely different from this position. All around there are modern buildings like the orchid and the Louis Vuitton museum.

The most spectacular piece of architecture is located on the same floor. It is the swimming pool of the Skypark connecting the three hotel towers. This infinity pool facilitates guests to swim to the edge and almost touch the skyline of Singapore. How strong must the construction be to hold the weight of all this water? From that moment on we stopped thinking and said cheers.

Net zoals in vele exclusieve bars, zijn de drankjes in Ku De Ta heel duur maar we denken dat het een bezoekje waard is. Je hoeft geen toegangsprijs te betalen om deze bar op het dak van het Marina Bay Sands Hotel te bezoeken. Voor het observatieplatform op ongeveer dezelfde hoogte dien je wel tickets aan te kopen.

De zichten van op Ku De Ta zijn super. Recht onder ons zien we het Formule 1 circuit met de gekleurde tribunes. De skyline van Singapore lijkt compleet anders van uit deze positie. Overal zie je moderne gebouwen zoals de orchidee en het Louis Vuitton museum. 

Het meest spectaculaire staaltje architectuur ligt echter vlak naast de bar. Dit is het zwembad van het Skypark die de drie hoteltorens met elkaar verbindt. Het Infinity zwembad laat bezoekers toe tot aan de rand te zwemmen en bijna de Skyline van Singapore aan te raken. Hoe sterk moet deze constructie zijn om het gewicht van al dit water te kunnen dragen? Vanaf dat moment stopten we met nadenken en zeggen we proost.

The games of light at Singapore by night

Light and laser games at night make the Marina Bay area of Singapore, the place to be, when the sun has set. In case you still have doubts what to do in the evening, you should be convinced after reading this article and seeing the pictures.

From the bay area at the Fullerton hotel, viewing platforms are available, directed at the Marnia Bay Sands towers. The music starts, all lights are switched on and the show starts. On top of the hotel roof laser beams light up the sky.

After the show, start your walk towards the Singapore Flyer and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The bridges are magnificent as also the views of the city centre. The Merlion is marble white and sprays water into the bay. Once arrived at the other side, visit the Gardens by the Bay (click link for unbelievable pictures). To do all of this and enjoy the views, we recommend to count on three hours including the walking tour. You will be delighted.

Licht en een laser spektakel maken de Marina Bay in Singapore, The Place to Be, na zonsondergang. Als je nog steeds twijfels hebt wat te doen 's avonds, zal je overtuigd zijn na het lezen van dit artikel en het zien van de foto's.

Aan de promenade aan het Fullerton Hotel, staan kijkplatforms gericht naar de Marina Bay Sands torens. De muziek start, alle lichtjes zijn aangeschakeld en de show vangt aan. Boven op het dak van het hotel worden lasers de duisternis in gestraald. 

Na de show raden we aan richting Singapore Flyer en het Marina Bay Sands Hotel te wandelen. De bruggen zijn magnifiek net zoals de Singapore skyline. De marmer witte Merlion spuit voortdurend water in de baai. Eens aan de overzijde bezoek je de Gardens by the Bay (klik op link voor ongelooflijke foto's). We raden je aan hiervoor drie uren te voorzien, inclusief het wandelen. Je zal heel tevreden zijn.

Modern buildings of Singapore

Our tour of modern buildings of Singapore start at the Marina Bay with the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. These are three tower hotel buildings connected to each other via a boat shaped swimming pool on the roof. It is nice to visit the hotel and its shopping center.

What we particularly like at most buildings in Singapore is that they are multi shaped. These are not your regular strait skyscrapers. Multiple blocks and flat compartments are sticking out of the rectangle. Some architecture is even round. In Singapore they are a lot with glass for the full façade of a transparent upper floor section. At the Marina Mandarin Hotel the entrance had an open space up to the top floor, a few floors higher stood a UFO shaped platform.

Op onze ontdekking van moderne gebouwen in Singapore starten we aan de Marina Bay met het Marina Bay Sands hotel. Dit zijn drie hoge hoteltorens met elkaar verbonden via een bootvormig zwembad op het dak. Het is leuk het hotel en hun winkelcentrum eens te bezoeken. 

We vinden het wel leuk dat de meeste gebouwen in Singapore een samenstelling van verschillende vormen zijn. Stukken flatgebouwen steken uit op de rechthoekige blokken. Sommige architectuur is zelfs rond. In Singapore werkt men veel met glas voor gevels maar ook bij transparante bovenverdiepingen. De Marina Mandarin hotel inkom had een heel grote open ruimte tot aan het bovenste verdiep, enkele etages hoger stond een UFO platform.
