IDSF danceComp 2010, Wuppertal

This weekend we danced our second IDSF competition in the historical town hall of Wuppertal. We did not get any markings but were pleased with our performance in the redance round in which all 5 dances were up to the level we would like to achieve. In total 158 couples participated in the adults standard that was won by Benedetto Ferruggia and Claudia Köhler from Germany, the current World Champions. It was a pity we missed the final that was planned around 2:30 in the night but we also enjoyed the fantastic final of the youth standard. This is a fantastic venue and if you have the possibility you should participate here.

Dit weekend hebben we onze 2de IDSF competitie gedanst in het historische stadhuis van Wuppertal. We kregen geen crossen van de jury, maar we waren tevreden met ons dansniveau in alle 5 dansen in de herkansingsronde. In totaal deden er 158 paren mee in de adults standard dat werd gewonnen door Benedetto Ferruggia en Claudia Köhler van Duitsland, de huidige Wereldkampioenen. Het was spijtig dat we de finale hebben gemist die gepland was om 2:30 's nachts maar we hebben toch volop genoten van de finale Youth standard. Dit is een fantastische locatie en als je de kans ziet moet je hier zeker meedoen.

Evening lights on Königsplatz, München

The Königsplatz in Munich is a square close to the central station with several impressive buildings. We were surprised that the Nazi headquarters were close to this square and the Nazis also used these buildings. The Propylaea is build according to the model of the Akropolis in the Greek style and dates from the late 19th century. The Glyptothek is a museum that was build in early 19th century.

De Königsplatz in München is een kruispunt met enkele impressionante gebouwen dicht bij het centraal station. We waren verbaasd dat het Nazi hoofdkwartier dicht bij dit kruispunt gelegen was en dat de Nazis ook deze gebouwen hebben gebruikt. De Propylaea is een gebouw naar het model van de Akropolis in Griekse stijl en werd afgewerkt in de laat 19de eeuw. De Glyptothek is een museum dat dateert uit het begin van 19de eeuw.

Cocktails at Láperitivo, Munich

In the Westenriederstrasse in Munich, you find a small Italian bar called Láperitivo. This is a super place to have a drink in the evening. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. Most of the time the place is packed. One of our favourite cocktails is the Spritz. It's always nice to have a drink with a small snack. A place we can recommend.

Láperitivo in de Westenriederstrasse te München is een kleine Italiaanse cocktail bar. Deze bar is super voor 's avonds van een drankje te genieten. Het personeel is vriendelijk en de bediening is uitstekend. Meestal is het hier redelijk druk. Onze favoriete cocktail is de Spritz. Het is altijd leuk te genieten van een cocktail met een snackje. Deze bar kunnen we zeker aanbevelen.
