Local primitive fish and fruit market in Seeb, Oman

A bit contradictorily compared to the fish and fruit market of Dubai Deira where it was very clean, hygienic and organised. Here in Seeb everything is primitive. The fishermen just roll out a dirty blanket and expose the fish to the sun. You can already smell it from a distance. The farmers sell their fruit and vegetables from the trunk of their car. In this small town there was also a mosque in which we showed more interest but it was closed. The beach was completely occupied by small fisher sloops. A confrontation with the hard life of fishermen in Oman.

Hier in Seeb lijkt alles primitief.

  3. The mosque is beautiful, are they selling in front of it? The food looks O.K., but if the fish were left out in the sun all day, I would be afraid of food poisoning!

  5. The smell would be very off-puting. Like the photo of the fishing sloops.

  6. Love the shot of all the fishing boats. It is a shame they haven't got a proper market place. Its funny they can afford cars and boats but not a stall.
