Japanese Cuisine with a star in Restaurant Yamazato, Amsterdam

We like sushi and sashimi and try to visit good Japanese restaurants when we travel. Restaurant Yamazato is located in the Okura Hotel in the Ferdinant Bolstraat 333, Amsterdam. It was the first Japanese restaurant in Europe which received a Michelin Star. For this reason we decided not to limit ourselves to sushi but to try their season menu recommended by the chef. The evening was very interesting with a lot of new experiences. We really liked the sushi, sashimi and the excellent lobster preparation. The grilled filet of beef was good but it should have been in our opinion the Japanese specialty Wagyu and this was not the case. The athmosphere in the restaurant was a formal and it was a bit overpriced for a one Star but Amsterdam is an expensive city and we should take into account.
