Several buildings are so special they to come out of a fantasy movie. Here you still find the open air restaurants which didn't look appealing to us. At the Wisma Fui Chiu shopping centre the real China town starts with its tea houses, temples, shops, restaurants and colorful lampoons.
Next to the traditional souvenirs, they also sell clothing, watches, sun glasses and many other products tourists could be attracted to. Above our head hangs a poster of Chinese Athletes competing in the Olympic Games. Tattoos seem to be popular in this community and occasionally you see a graffiti attempt.
Kuala Lumpur heeft één van de grootste en meest interessante Chinese gemeenschappen die we ooit hebben gezocht. Heel verschillend met Chinatown in San Francisco wat waarschijnlijk te verklaren valt daar KL veel dichter bij China gelegen is. Het is authentieker.
Verschillende gebouwen lijken net uit een avonturenfilm te komen. Hier vind je nog open lucht restaurants aan de straatkant maar dit leek ons geen goed idee. Aan het Wisma Fui Chiu winkelcentrum start het allemaal met theehuizen, tempels, winkels, restaurants en kleurrijke lampions.
Naast traditionele souvenirs verkoopt men er ook kledij, uurwerken, zonnebrillen en vele andere producten die aantrekkelijk zouden kunnen zijn voor toeristen. Boven ons hangt een poster van Chinese atleten die deelnemen aan de Olympische Spelen. Tattoos lijken heel populair in deze gemeenschap en af en toe zie je een poging tot graffiti.
