Modern buildings of Kuala Lumpur

Who thinks of Kuala Lumpur and modern buildings, predominantly has the Petronas Towers in mind. This is also the reason why we start with a picture of ourselves in front of these iconic towers. Kuala Lumpur however has many other modern constructions.

Some of the buildings are in glass, steal or have a golden appearance. The headquarters of the Petronas Company is in an Islam architecture with lots of glass and arches. The KL television tower is 420 meters high and in Bukit Bintang elevated cooled walking promenades connect futuristic shopping areas and public transport.

Modern architecture in combination with electronic billboards is the ideal setting for advertising. You see it inside shopping malls and covering entire facades of high rise flats. All our modern buildings articles till now have been very popular, we are curious to see if this will also be the case for Kuala Lumpur.

Wie aan Kuala Lumpur en moderne architectuur denkt, heeft voornamelijk de Petronas Towers in gedachten. Dit is ook de reden waarom we aanvangen met een foto van ons voor deze iconische torens. Kuala Lumpur heeft echter nog vele andere moderne gebouwen.

Sommige gebouwen zijn in glas, staal of hebben een gouden uitstraling. Het hoofdkwartier van de Petronas oliemaatschappij is in islam architectuur met veel glas en sierbogen. De KL televisietoren is 420 meter hoog en in Bukit Bintang staan er verhoogde gekoelde wandelgangen die futuristische winkelcentra en openbaar vervoer met elkaar verbinden. 

Moderne architectuur in combinatie met elektronische lichtreclame is de ideale omgeving voor het adverteren. Je ziet het in winkelcentra en het bedekt soms gehele muren van flatgebouwen. Al onze moderne gebouwen artikelen zijn altijd heel populair geweest, we zijn nieuwsgierig of ons Kuala Lumpur artikel ook zo geliefd zal zijn.

General Impressions of Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is a fantastic city with many different attractions, good restaurants, bars, shopping opportunities and great purchasing value. The pictures below provide you an impression of the magnificent capital of Malaysia.

On the first picture you see the Masjid Jamek Mosque which is currently being renovated. A great exterior architecture but the interior or open galleries are simple. The staff of the Iman were very friendly and open. In the background you see one of the modern buildings of Kuala Lumpur. The contrast with the domes could not be bigger.

On the second picture we see the Petronas Towers, probably the most famous building in Asia. It is possible to take a city tour in Kuala Lumpur organized by the Malaysian government. Most houses are colorful and modern statues are no exception.

We grabbed the opportunity to meet our blog friends Monica and Caning from “The Yum List”. It was a very good evening in “La Mexicana” bar in Kuala Lumpur. Meeting internet friends from the other side of the world in real live is top.

Next to the modern buildings, Kuala Lumpur also offers graffiti, temples, fountains, market places, Portuguese architecture and colonial houses. Large commercial billboards of the Petronas oil company stated “Conquering the seas” and “Dominating the racetrack”. Facts that make you reflect on the industrial reality.

Kuala Lumpur is een fantastische stad met vele bezienswaardigheden, goede restaurants, bars, winkelcentra en een sterke koopkracht. De foto’s hieronder geven een indruk van de mooie Maleisische hoofdstad.

Op de eerste foto zie je de Masjid Jamek Moskee die momenteel onder renovatie is. Een ongelooflijk exterieur maar de binnenzijde en open galerijen zijn eenvoudig. Het personeel van de Iman was heel vriendelijk en open. Op de achtergrond zie je één van de moderne gebouwen. Het contrast met de koepels van de moskee kan niet groter zijn.

Op de tweede foto zie je de Petronas Towers, waarschijnlijk het meest beroemde gebouw van Azië. Het is mogelijk een stadsrit te maken met een open toeristenbus uitgebaat door de overheid. De meeste huizen zijn kleurvol en moderne standbeelden staan er in veelvoud.

We grepen de kans met beide handen om onze blogvrienden van “The Yum List”, Moinca en Caning te ontmoeten. Het was een prachtige avond in de “Mexicana” bar. Internet vrienden van de andere kant van de wereld leren kennen in het echte leven is gewoon top.

Naast moderne gebouwen, biedt Kuala Lumpur ons ook graffiti, tempels, fonteinen, markten, Portugese architectuur en koloniale huizen aan. Grote commerciële reclameborden van de Petronas oliemaatschappij omschrijven: “Veroveren van de zee” en “Domineren het racecircuit”. Feiten die je doen nadenken over de industriële realiteit.

Kuala Lumpur by night, a must for every tourist

The Petronas Towers are impressive during the day but in the dark with the lights on, it is out of this world. We passed by so many evenings and every time we had to stop, look at the towers, walk next to the fountains, look up again when we progressed for the next hundred meters. From our hotel we had excellent views on the Petronas Towers and enjoyed a drink from the outdoor terrace.

In this district almost all the high rise buildings have light displays and fancy colors. Walking a few kilometers at night after dinner or visiting a bar is a must. You see so many interesting towers, super cars, houses and bridges. Don't worry about safety, you feel the friendliness in the streets and there is also discipline with the evening presence of a police force.

De Petronas Towers zijn indrukwekkend tijdens het daglicht maar 's avonds wordt het nog spectaculairder, gewoon niet van deze wereld. We kwamen hier zoveel avonden voorbij en steeds keken we naar boven, naar de torens, naar de fonteinen en enkele meters verder opnieuw. De drang hiervoor was zo groot. Van op het terras in ons hotel hadden we een uitstekend zicht op de Petronas Towers en genoten we soms van een avondmutsje. 

In deze wijk zijn heel veel hoge gebouwen met sierverlichting en gekke kleuren. Enkele kilometers gaan wandelen na het avondeten of het bezoeken van een bar is een must. Je ziet er veel interessante torens, super auto's, huizen en bruggen. Maak je geen zorgen over de veiligheid bij nacht, je voelt dat de omgeving vriendelijkheid en respect uitstraalt. Discipline is er ook met een avond politiemacht.
