IDSF 2010, Wuppertal, Dutch Couples and the World Champions

This is the last blogarticle of the 2010 IDSF competition in Wuppertal. I would like to share with you two videos of Benedetto Ferruggia and Claudia Kohler, and also very special to us, a compilation of the Dutch standard couples in the second and third round. Our apologies if we missed a couple, this was our first attempt to make such a video.

Dit is het laatste blogartikel van de 2010 IDSF competitie in Wuppertal. Wij delen graag met u, 2 videos van Benedetto Ferruggia en Claudia Kohler, en ook zeer speciaal voor ons, een compilatie van de Nederlandse Standard paren in de tweede en derde ronde. Onze excuses indien we een paar gemist hebben, dit was onze eerste poging zo'n video compilatie te maken.

The green city of Wuppertal and the Schwebebahn

The city of Wuppertal is known for its historical town hall and the famous "Schwebebahn". Wuppertal is located in the hills and has a many green areas. The "Schwebebahn" a hanging monorail metro is more than 100 years old and is unique in the world. Unfortunately the monorail was closed this weekend for maintenance work. I have added a picture from Wikipedia of the metro cabin to give you an impression of the vehicle. The city centre is small and cosy with many open air restaurants in the summer. There was a friendly atmosphere between all football fans from Germany and Spain who are playing each other in the semi final of the world cup. All by all a nice city.

De stad Wuppertal staat bekend om zijn historisch stadhuis en de beroemde "Schwebebahn". Wuppertal ligt in de heuvels en heeft veel groen. De "Schwebebahn" is een hangende monorail metro van meer als 100 jaar oud, een uniek vervoermiddel in de wereld. Spijtig genoeg was de monorail gesloten voor onderhoud dit weekend. Ik heb een foto uit Wikipedia van het metrostel toegevoegd om u een betere indruk te geven. Het stadscentrum is klein en gezellig met vele open lucht restaurants in de zomer. Er was een vriendelijke en uitbundige atmosfeer tussen de voetbalfans van Duitsland en Spanje die tegen elkaar spelen in de halve finale van de wereldbeker. Alles bij alles een leuke stad..

IDSF danceComp 2010 - Part 2, Wuppertal

It has been a while since we published a video from our own dancing on this blog. That's because it is not easy to find people to make recordings. So if you want to volunteer don't hesitate to send us a mail or to leave a comment on this blog. It is really appreciated. In the video below we made a compilation of the 5 dances. There were many people in the ballroom and it was difficult to make this video.

Het is een tijdje geleden dat we nog een video hebben gepubliceerd van ons dansen. Het is niet gemakkelijk mensen te vinden die ons kunnen opnemen. Als je dus vrijwilliger bent, aarzel dan niet te mailen of een commentaar op deze blog na te laten. We waarderen dit sterk. De video hieronder is een compilatie van alle 5 dansen. Er waren zeer veel toeschouwers op deze competitie wat het bemoeilijkte opnames te maken.
