Colors and the magical sword of the Guan Di Temple, Kuala Lumpur

This Chinese Taoist temple in Kuala Lumpur Chinatown is located in the Jalan Tun H S Lee street. At the entrance you see sculptures of dragons, lions and warriors. Guan Di was a warrior and inside the temple you find his 59kg sword. He must have been a giant in order to be able to swing his sword. No wonder he is a legendary warrior. People think touching the sword will bring them good luck.

Pink circular candles hanging from the ceiling were slowly burning. A blue ceramic little dragon looks down on the courtyard where many of the worshippers pass by. On the altar people laid down oranges for the Gods. The smell of burning sticks was intense.

  3. All this is very bright and some almost look like children painted it. It is kind of like a temple for kids. I imagine they would love the colors.

  12. geweldig interessant Filip. Groetjes Dietmut
