The Anglican Church in Singapore, St. Andrews Cathedral

Churches in South East Asia are rather rare, the predominant religions are Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism. The St. Andrews Cathedral is located in the city center of Singapore and originates from the colonial period during the 19th century.

It is hard to approach the church since the large garden is protected by a high fence. Only at the corners of the garden, a garden gate could be opened. The church is completely white and the interior simple. We were a bit surprised to find so many books at each chair.

  1. Wow, this is a beautiful church!!I I am presuming Catholic. When I was choosing my favorite picture, I realized they are all wonderful and I could not choose. Love the first one, the inside, and the glorious windows. Especially the seventh picture of the windows, they are very unusual and I have never seen that pattern. Wonder if those are either bibles or hymn books.
