Bible reading and Anadale falls, Grenada

On our walk to the Anadale Falls, we were accompanied by a local singer. He was a funny guy and knew some popular songs. The forest has many beautiful flowers and special trees. Some we had never seen before.

Reaching the falls, there was church community reading bible stories. We felt the importance of religion on this island. The Anadale fall is reasonable in size. We enjoyed or trip.

Op onze wandeling naar de Anadale Watervallen, werden we begeleid door een lokale zanger. Hij was wel grappig en kende enkele populaire liedjes. In het bos stonden mooie bloemen en speciale bomen. Sommige plantensoorten hadden we nog nooit eerder gezien. 

Aan de watervallen, stond een kerkgemeenschap uit de Bijbel voor te lezen. We voelden hoe belangrijk religie is op dit eiland. De Anadale Falls zijn redelijk hoog en we genoten van onze wandeling.

The Anglican Church in Singapore, St. Andrews Cathedral

Churches in South East Asia are rather rare, the predominant religions are Buddhism, Islam and Hinduism. The St. Andrews Cathedral is located in the city center of Singapore and originates from the colonial period during the 19th century.

It is hard to approach the church since the large garden is protected by a high fence. Only at the corners of the garden, a garden gate could be opened. The church is completely white and the interior simple. We were a bit surprised to find so many books at each chair.

Kerken in Zuidoost Azië zijn eerder zeldzaam. De dominerende religies zijn het Boeddhisme, de Islam en het Hindoeïsme. De St. Andrew kathedraal staat in het stadscentrum van Singapore en werd gebouwd gedurende de koloniale periode in de 19de eeuw. 

Het is niet gemakkelijk de kerk te benaderen daar de grote tuin afgesloten is door een hoog hekwerk. Enkel aan de tuinhoeken kan er een ingangspoort geopend zijn. De kerk is volledig wit met eenvoudig interieur. We waren wat verrast op iedere stoel zo veel boeken terug te vinden.
