General Impressions of Phuket, a top tourist destination in Thailand

Phuket is a top tourist destination and this is not surprising with all restaurants, bars, entertainment and top hotels. Many of the big hotel brands have several resorts on the island. Next to the extreme luxury you find mobile kitchens selling food to mainly the Thai population. Sometimes you see Europeans trying a piece of meat. On the beach you can enjoy a relaxing massage.

Local taxi’s or open tuk tuks bring you everywhere in Patong Beach. Do you want to go to Hooters or Hard Rock Café for a drink? No shortage of colors in the street with temples, paint shops, graffiti, tattoos and painted houses. On Bangla road a group sexy ladies are posing for a commercial. The billboard of the Tiger Club says it all: The best in biggest night club in Asia. Is this true? They are all number one.

Phuket is een top bestemming voor toerisme en dit is goed te begrijpen met zoveel restaurants, bars, entertainment en top hotels. Vele van de grote hotelnamen hebben verschillende vestigingen op het eiland. Naast de extreme luxe zie je er ook mobiele keukentjes die eten verkopen op straat, meestal aan de Thaise bevolking. Soms zie je Europeanen een stukje vlees uitproberen. Op het strand kan je genieten van een massage. 

De lokale taxi’s of tuk tuks brengen je overal in Patong Beach. Wil je iets drinken in Hooters of Hard Rock Cafe? Geen tekort aan kleur in de straat met tempels, winkeltjes die schilderijen verkopen, graffiti, tattoos of geverfde huizen. Op Bangla Road poseert een groep sexy dames voor een reclamestunt. De banner van de Tiger Club spreekt boekdelen: De beste en grootste nachtclub in Azië. Is dit wel zo? Hier is iedereen “Number One”.

    Wow, now I've seen it all, Hooters and Hard Rock Cafe! Of course if I were visiting there, I'd opt for the local kind of restaurant and something new other than where I live. But you know I would still have to check it out to see how theirs compared to ours! Lovely shots around town, what fun to be out and about, gathering up life in all walks.
