Great modern architecture in the Medienhafen, Düsseldorf

In the port you find many sail boats and yachts. Old factory buildings get a new destination or are replaced by modern offices, hotels and restaurants. We tried an Italian snack in one of the trendy restaurants.

The first white and silver buildings on our pictures are curved and from the capable hands of the world famous American architect Frank Gehry. The shiny silver apartments are our favorite, it is extreme and flashy. Other buildings are also super: special shapes, colored glass facades and little art men climbing walls. To conclude this port has become one of the best and modern districts of Dusseldorf.

  1. Oh my goodness, I have never seen anything like these! For sure you would never get bored living here. They are fun and whimsical. I like them better than the old brick plain buildings that can look like prisons.

  5. I like those colorful statues climbing the building. The name Dusseldorf sounds so familiar to me, my father might have been stationed there when he served in the Navy. Something from my father's serving, it was before I was born.
