General Impressions of St. John’s, Antigua

St. John’s is the capital of Antigua. The city is offering tourists some shopping opportunities but everything is expensive. Probably they want to make money the fast way and expect that people will only come once to their island. We have to admit that the local drawings and paintings were attractive. In the city you see several pirate images which is a popular topic since the Disney hit movies of “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

Also here the churches are in a poor state. The cathedral has been destroyed several times by earthquakes and hurricanes. A little bit outside the capital, the nature is amazing. Just have a look at the bay in the last three pictures.

  7. Great pictures, I have to laugh at the one who was Johnny Depp in the movie...not such a great hairdo- but cool anyway. It sure looks like a beautiful day there, with the best cotton candy floating clouds!

  10. Looks peaceful and not many people about. Pity about the Churches but we have no say regarding nature.
