The Lawn Club Grill Restaurant on the Celebrity Reflection

As Ultimate Dining guests, we are invited on a sea day for the lunch in the “Lawn Club Grill”. This is an open air restaurant on deck 15 of the newest Celebrity cruise ship. The chefs are waiting at the grill, if you want to give it a try yourself, they will teach it to you. The restaurant looks perfect but there was too much wind that day. The real grass provides a feeling of a garden, if the big chimney of the ship would not be there you could not guess you are at sea.

The waiter offers us a choice of pizza bread, it was just delicious and they make it right in front of you. While Kristel eats her salad, the wind is blowing. The waiter takes our picture, as you can see, the ship is moving or is he not keeping my camera stable? Our main course arrives. I am going for the red meat: a piece of lamb and a rib eye. Kristel goes for the light version: chicken thandori and scallops with shrimp. A great experience, grill adventures at sea.

Als “Ultimate Dining” gasten zijn we op een zeedag uitgenodigd voor een lunch in de “Lawn Club Grill”. Het is een open lucht restaurant op het 15de verdiep van het nieuwste Celebrity Cruise schip. De chefs wachten aan de grill, als je zelf iets wil bakken zullen je ze graag begeleiden. Het restaurant ziet er perfect uit maar er stond veel wind die dag. Door het echte gras denk je in een tuin te zitten, zonder de enorme schoorsteen kon je niet geloven dat je in open zee vaart. 

De ober biedt ons een keuze van pizza brood aan, dit was ongelooflijk lekker en ze maken het recht voor je tafel. Terwijl Kristel nog van een slaatje aan het genieten was waaide de wind. De ober neemt onze foto en je ziet het schip letterlijk bewegen of was zijn hand niet zo stabiel? Ons hoofdgerecht komt er aan. Ik ga voor het rode vlees: een stukje lamskroon en de ribeye. Kristel gaat voor het lichtere werk: Thandori kip en St. Jacobsnoten met scampi’s. Wat een ervaring, een grill avontuur op zee..

Sailing out the Cruise Port of Miami, magnificent views of the beach

While the Celebrity Reflection is still docked, we take pictures of the skyline of downtown Miami. Just below, we see a super yacht and the U.S. Coast Guard comes into action. We are going to sail off. The terrace on the back of the ship gives us the best views of the landscape gliding by.

We pass container ships and high rise buildings. The Norwegian Epic is following us to the open ocean. A party on the Epic is really kicking off with the music of Psy’s world hit Gangnam Style. The views of the beach and pier are great, kids jump in the water, and the majestic Reflection is sailing out. The shot from the back shows how long the cruise ship really is.

Terwijl de Celebrity Reflection nog aangemeerd ligt nemen we enkele foto’s van de Miami skyline. Onder ons ligt een super jacht en de kustwacht komt in actie. We gaan vertrekken. Het achterdekterras geeft ons het beste zicht en het landschap glijdt voorbij. 

We varen voorbij containerschepen en wolkenkrabbers. De Norwegian Epic volgt in het kielzog, op naar de open oceaan. Het feest op de Epic is in volle gang met de wereldhit Gangnam Style van Psy. Het zicht op het strand en de pier zijn verbluffend, kinderen springen in het water en de koninklijke Reflection vaart uit. De foto van de achterzijde van de Reflection toont hoe lang het schip wel is..

Celebrity Reflection the newest large cruise ship in the world

We are Celebrity Captain Club Elite Members and love the company we cruise with. The last few weeks you saw some articles of our cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse and since we were in Miami, we took the opportunity to add a trip on the newest Celebrity ship. The Celebrity Reflection did its inaugural cruise on October 12, 2012. Reflection was only sailing for a few months when we embarked the newest ship of the Solstice Class.

To give you an idea of the size of the ship: 126,000 tons, 1047 feet long, 15 decks, 3 pools, 9 restaurants, lots of bars with life music and a fabulous theatre. From the 11th deck where our stateroom was located we looked down in the atrium saw the Christmas tree and a giant real tree between the elevators. We added some pictures of restaurants, theatre, lounges, the cellar masters wine room, the Martini Bar and the casino. The Celebrity Reflection is a fantastic ship and we hope you will like our next Caribbean articles.

De laatste weken kon je blogverhalen lezen over onze cruise met de Celebrity Eclipse en daar we in Miami waren hadden we de gelegenheid nog een trip te maken met het nieuwste Celebrity schip. De Celebrity Reflection startte zijn eerste cruise op 12 oktober, 2012. De Reflection vaarde nog maar enkele maanden toen wij inscheepten op het nieuwste schip van de Solstice klasse. 

Om u een idee te geven van de grootte van het schip: 126,000 ton, 319 meter lang, 15 verdiepingen, 3 zwembaden, 9 restaurants, vele bars met life muziek en een ongelooflijk theater. Van op de 11de etage waar onze kamer gelegen was keken we neer in het atrium op de kerstboom en een echte boom tussen de liften. We hebben enkele foto’s toegevoegd van restaurants, het theater, lounges, de wijnbar, de Martini Bar en het casino. De Celebrity Reflection is een fantastisch schip en we hopen dat je onze volgende artikelen over de Caraiben in de smaak zullen vallen..
