The Maytree and the Bergkirchlein church on an altitude of 2600m

We are very happy with our pictures of the Maytree on Zugspitzplatt. I was just struggling with my glasses due to the heavy sunlight. It gives a special effect on the picture which we like. We were surprised to find a small church, the Bergkirchlein, on this altitude. It has a wooden interior with some wall paintings and an altar. There are seats for aproximately 25 people.

  6. Is a Maytree anything like a Maypole? Maybe not, because I have never seen one in the snow before, or one that looked this nice! I'm loving the little church, especially the front doors, with the stonework pattern!!! I would imagine that people come in there to pray that they don't break their legs while skiing!
