Bai Ta stupa, temples and gardens in Beihai Park, Beijing

Beihai Park is very large and it takes a while to discover the many beautiful temples in restored bright colours. When comparing Chinese temples with the ones in Thailand, we miss some colour and details. Here in Beihai Park it is a different setting, the temples shine in red, blue and green. The white stupa is about 40 metres high and visible from the entire park.

Besides the fabulous Chinese gardens, the lake is covered with water lilies. Each pavilion and garden displays architecture of famous cities in China, like Suzhou. Suzhou is known for its canals and gardens which we are going to visit later on our tour around China. Suzhou is located about 1.150 km from Beijing.

  5. I love the lily pad photo, and the brilliant colors in some of the later pictures. The lst picture, I would love one in my backyard, but smaller of course. The yellow one looks like a boat, gosh even their boats are beautifully colored.
