Monte Solaro views and Anacapri shopping, Capri

The mountain in Anacapri called Monte Solaro has a summit of 589 metres high and is known for the most beautiful views of the island. The best way to reach the summit is by chairlift. It gives you a true feeling of freedom and flying in a single seater. I shout out to Kristel so that she looks behind her for a ride picture. We still have a long climb but it only takes 12 minutes, relax and enjoy the views.

On the top the views of the island and the Mediterranean Sea are amazing. There are flowers growing against the steep mountain wall, looking down you feel very fragile. Falling would be fatal. The first boat picture has a big zoom on it; the second boat picture shows it without zoom.

After a breathtaking walk we return to the chairlift which will take us back to Anacapri for a shopping stop. When you would like to buy a souvenir, this is a good place. They sell beautiful painted tiles, shells of the island and clothing.

  1. Capri is such a beautiful island to visit, and of course the exciting chairlift to the top - I seem to remember there is a lift too.

  3. That chair lift ride is very scary! But the pictures you got from it are worth it and wonderful! The red flower...it is a Bottle Brush plant. I also love the tree. I'm afraid I would have been buying quite a lot...

  7. A long way up on the chairlift. Where I live we have the longest single span chairlift in the southern hemisphere, and they are fun.
What a great view you saw. The flowers are lovely, including that bottle brush which we have growing in our area.
